These are some of DJ BleuLlama's themed mixtapes-as-audio files for ease of consumption. New episodes are posted roughly weekly or so, and each usually follows some sort of theme or gimmick.

"The Main Street Electrical Parade" - Don Dorsey (Disney) [1977]

I got into a major Disney kick this past year. The Tiki Room music and the Main Street Electrical Parade were played a lot.

"Forgive Me" - Infected Mushroom [Vicious Delicious] [2007]

These guys really know how to use a vocoder. Great track too. In general, I got into "psytrance" a lot, so I got introduced to these guys.

"Taschenrechner" - Kraftwerk [The Mix (Deutsche Version)] [1991]

The Kraftwerk remasters came out this past year. I've listened to "The Mix" (english) more times than I can count. The German version is excellent.

"Dentaku" - Kraftwerk [The Mix (Deutsche Version)] [1991]

"That Beep" - Architecture In Helsinki [That Beep] [2009]

A great song from a band I hadn't heard of before. Their other stuff is a lot more experimental-folkey stuff than this song, which is quite catchy and poppy.

"Bubblicious" - Rex The Dog [Bubblicious] [2008]

A very catchy electronic tune with a sample of Allison Moyet singing "Midnight" from Yaz. The video for this song is really cute. Search for it.

"Nobody Knows (part 1)" - Zoot Woman [Living In A Magazine] [2001]

I was introduced to this song from an electroclash compilation. I finally found more stuff by them, and sadly don't like it nearly as much as this song.

"A Cause Des Garcons" - Yelle [Pop Out] [2007]

There were two albums I was addicted to this year. Yelle's was one of them. I did search for translations, so I know what she's singing about. There's another song by her on a planned upcoming podcast too.

"Das Spiegel" - Chemical Brothers [We Are The Night] [2007]

Heard this on the radio, and it was so weird and interesting, I had to snag it. I should retroactively add it to episode 33.

"Osoy" - Mark Mothersbaugh [Muzik For Insomniaks Volume 1] [1988]

Snagged this MM album and felt it needed to be represented here. :)

"Memory Gongs" - Cocteau Twins and Harold Budd [The Moon And The Melodies] [1986]

One of the few albums I listen to when I can't think of anything else to listen to is A Brief History Of Ambient Volume 1, which contains an alternate version of this track (Flowered Knife Shadows). Pam loves Cocteau Twins, and I felt it was my obligation to track this down and get it.

"The Elevator - The UN - Information Desk" - Bernard Hermann [North By Northwest Soundtrack] [1959]

Excellent work music for me. It also makes for great driving music. It makes a trip down the street much more dramatic!

It felt necessary to finish up the NBNW set with this.

"Water Music I" - Robert Fripp [Exposure (3rd edition)] [1979]

A sort of extended intro for the next track...

"Here Comes The Flood" - Robert Fripp, Peter Gabriel [Exposure (3rd edition)] [1979]

I know and love Peter Gabriel's second album. When I read that it was a part of a Robert Fripp trilogy, I snagged the other two albums, and now listen to them all in the context of eachother. This album and Daryl Hall's first album are the other two in the trilogy.

"In My Life" - The Beatles [Rubber Soul] [1965]

The Beatles remasters came out in September in Mono and Stereo. They really sound excellent. I included one of my favorite Beatles tunes to end this out.

"Along Comes A Woman" - Chicago [Chicago 17] [1984]

I've always loved this song . I finally bought this album this past year, and I was addicted to this song for a few weeks.

"Fade Away" - TV Eyes [TV Eyes] [2006]

I finally filled out my Roger Joseph Manning Jr collection this past year, and in there was this gem of a project called "TV Eyes" he did with Jason Falkner and Brian Reitzell. This is my single favorite new-for-me album from this past year. This song feels like an "ending" song, so it's here to close out this mix.

A selection of Zappa's stuff that I enjoy a lot. It's mainly from a very very very small handful of albums. (Two albums, specifically.) All of these either have nostalgic value, or just get stuck in my head from time to time.

Zappa was a very odd person.

Infinite thanks to my old friend Dan Zipkin for introducing me to Zappa's stuff, and to Chris Pallace for introducing me to other Zappa stuff in college.
